SANF GREENMENS PVT LTD- Get High Returns With Growing And Selling Flowers

India gained its independence in the year 1947, even after so many years of independence our farmers who are toiling to feed our nation, he himself is hungry, deprived, and distressed. Drought, unseasonal rains, and floods, still ail Indian agriculture. Small and marginal farmers have reached the brink of despair, and what they are experiencing is something that is beyond an agrarian crisis.

Our government time and again has reiterated the importance of relying on allied sectors of agriculture (horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy, fishery, and miscellaneous activities) to improve livelihood. Practicing integrated farming systems (livestock crop farming), intercropping, etc. are the only ways to ensure a steady flow of income all year-round.

In the recent years, floriculture has emerged as a profitable agri-business in India in view of improved standards of living and growing consciousness among the citizens all over the world to live in an environment-friendly atmosphere leading to an increase in the demand of floriculture products in the developed as well as in the developing countries worldwide. Talking about commercial floriculture, or flower farming, there is huge scope in India, mainly because India’s climatic conditions are quite favorable for floriculture. The floriculture industry holds immense potential to increase the income of many small and marginal farmers.

The biggest advantage is that flowers need much less land and water for production, in comparison to the cultivation of other crops (rice and wheat). Moreover, these crops also ensure decent prices almost throughout the year and the lock-in period from sowing to harvesting is much less as in the case of other regular crops. Not to mention, your returns on investment are much higher from these, when weighed against conventional crops, and reasonably so since these products are in high demand not only in domestic markets but in international markets as well.

Floriculture is an extremely important component of the Horticulture industry that has the potential for generating employment opportunities all year-round and earning foreign exchange.

Prospects of floriculture:

In India, floriculture is considered as a high growth industry, and the scopes of floriculture in our country are vast:

  1. Various uses of flowers in an aesthetic sense and the considerably increased purchasing power of people have led to the rise in opportunities for floriculture.
  2. The demand for floricultural plants and their products are required in various functions and celebrations.
  3. The diverse agro-climatic conditions in India enable the growth of all types of flowers in one season or the other.
  4. Setting up a lawn and its maintenance is a lucrative venture that has become an essential part of the landscaping, which requires human resources- both skilled and unskilled.
  5. Let’s talk about the nursery industry now, which is coming up as a flourishing enterprise, giving high returns on investment. By staring flower farming, you can cater to the demands of high-quality flower seeds, including F1 hybrids.
  6. Last, but not the least extraction of essential oils, natural dyes, and pharmaceutical compounds from flower plants is emerging as a profitable business.

Roses are primarily used in perfumes and in the preparation of rose water, which is used for cooking, medicine, cosmetics, and in religious practices. Costs involved in Rose farming per one acre:

Profit= Income-Costs involved= Rs 450000- Rs 380000= Rs 70000. Hence the profit is Rs 70000 per one acre. Remember, your income from rose farming will depend on soil type, climate, yield, variety, season, market demand, and planting methods. The price of rose varies from market to market, place to place, and region to region.

But as we said, this is a misconception. You can grow a minimum of five crops as intercrops in MD plantation, including wheat, pulses, millets, castor, flowers, and more. Halfway through the plantation, farmers can start earning from these crops which even can make up for your expenses for Melia Dubia. You can choose to grow any crop as an intercrop with Melia Dubia, as long as it is not damaging to the main crop, the component crop should support or supplement it in some way.
